Loved this conversation with my friend and colleague Sarah Rimmel! The queer community contains multitudes. We must be thoughtful about feeling what we need to feel and resourcing ourselves in turbulent times.Join us this coming Wednesday as we continue this conversation at our Pride for Past, Present and The Future panel 💚https://lnkd.in/etZNAxAC

🌼 Planting Seeds of Respect: Grandparents' Guide to Nurturing Civility 🌼In a world that thrives on diversity and connection, instilling the values of civility and respect is more crucial than ever. As grandparents, you have the power to be role models, guiding your grandchildren toward understanding, empathy, and kindness.🌱 Step 1: Lead by Example 🌱Showcase respect in your interactions with others. Let your grandchildren witness how you treat everyone—regardless of differences—with kindness, patience, and consideration.🌍 Step 2: Teach Empathy 🌍Encourage your grandchildren to step into others' shoes. Engage in discussions about differing perspectives and feelings, helping them understand the importance of walking the path of empathy.🤝 Step 3: Encourage Active Listening 🤝Share the art of active listening with your grandchildren. When they feel heard and understood, they'll be more inclined to extend the same courtesy to others.🌟 Step 4: Embrace Diversity 🌟Celebrate the beauty of diversity by sharing stories from your own experiences. Teach them that differences enrich our lives and should be respected and valued.💕 Step 5: Use Real-life Examples 💕Discuss real-life scenarios and explore how to respond with civility and respect. This practice helps them develop critical thinking skills while reinforcing positive behavior.By nurturing these values, you're contributing to a brighter future—a world where civility and respect are the foundation of strong, compassionate communities. 🌎💖 Share your own insights and experiences in the comments below, and let's continue to raise a generation of empathetic, respectful individuals.#RespectMatters #GuidingValues #CivilityMatters #GrandparentWisdom #HealingYourFamilies #winwinwomen

You want that whole "50/50 split" in your relationship?Throw that idea out. Here's the thing: relationships aren't always about perfect equality.Sometimes you'll give 80, they'll give 20. Other times, it'll be vice-versa.It's not about keeping score, it's about creating your own little paradise together. Some days you'll be the superhero, other days you'll need rescuing. And that's okay! It's about balancing each other out over time.Focus on building something beautiful together, not on who's doing more.In a relationship, you're a team crafting your own unique love story. It's not about equality – it's about growing something amazing, together.

The worst mistake one can make is hearing one version of a story and thinking they have heard the true version. A successful, thoughtful person hears the whole story from both sides and finds the common ground. How many of you were judged without someone hearing your side? I am certain everyone has been a time or two. If you listen to one version, take the time to hear the other side. You may be surprised how misinformed you were. Practice Active listening and hear “the rest of the story” before drawing a conclusion.

There are always two sides. Don’t be afraid to apologize when you are on the wrong side. Don’t blame. Don’t make excuses. I’m very sorry. What can we do to fix this and ensure it doesn’t happen again. Recognizing this will help you grow. As a person and a company.

Especially, when people and the internet dish out so much information these days that may or may not be accurate. Be sure to seek to understand from the source in addition to what information you are gathering elsewhere. A thorough perspective gathers from all angles and resources. Most things are not what they seem initially, once you understand deeper. ;) #criticalthinking #creativequestions #prespectivematters
