The cost of a funeral in Illinois can range from $2,770 to $10,000 or more depending on the service you are provided. Your family may struggle trying to pay for your funeral if you pass away without savings or a life insurance policy.

This right and responsibility goes to the following people, in order: a person you name in your will, prepaid funeral or burial contract, health care power of attorney, cremation authorization form, or other form that satisfies the requirements of Illinois law. the executor or legal representative of your estate.

The Illinois State Comptroller's Office licenses certain private cemeteries that accept care funds, along with businesses, such as cemeteries and funeral homes, that sell pre-need funeral goods and services to consumers.
